Happy Winter Solstice! The day may feel a bit heavy as it gets underway thanks to the Square between Venus and Saturn that perfected at 12:09at am Eastern but the further we go out from the morning the stronger the pull is to the optimistic and generous Moon/Jupiter alignment that will color the rest of the day. Think one-on-ones or a way to find balance regarding important goals and family, home, or emotional needs. The Sun moves into Capricorn at 10:03am Eastern, kicking off 30 days through the sign of ambition, authority, leadership, and status, and marks the Winter Solstice. This is our time to show up, get more personally or physically involved with our goals and go for what we want. Now, I wanted to show you guys something here about the Winter Solstice and what occurs over the next 3 months to the Spring Equinox, but you don't need to read this part if you don't want to learn a bit and follow along, I've already written about today!
We head into the Winter and the fourth quarter of the astrological cycle where we are meant to wrap things up, go within and ready ourselves for Springs renewal at the Spring Equinox on March 20th. I have uploaded the 2 charts, the first one the Winter Solstice here:

so you can see it with your own eyes, (even if you don't know how to read a chart, I will walk you through it). The way to follow this with me if you don't know how is with the 2 sets of numbers in the chart and it's easier than you think. First, at the very center of each chart you will see the numbers 1 through 12, these denote the 12 houses of the chart and divide the circle of the chart into 12 pieces that look like pieces of a pie. The houses are where things take place. The second numbers that matters are the numbers next to each planet or point in the chart that will help you find the planets I'm talking about if you don't know what they look like by glyph. So, for example, if I say look at the Winter chart and into the 10th house you go to the middle of the circle and find the number 10 and then in that 'piece of pie' or house you can see there is one planet inside the circle there at 13.11 degrees and that is Mercury. I will round the degrees off so we would say Mercury is at 13 degrees. Alright, you're now ready to look at these charts and the big things going on over the next 3 months.
I think the most striking thing about the movement ahead in the next 3 months is we can see at the Winter Solstice that Venus, Juno and the Sun in Sagittarius in the 11th house (look at the inner circle of this chart and the numbers 1-12, and go to the 11th house, there Venus is at 26 degrees, Juno at 27 degrees and the Sun at 29 degrees of Sagittarius. Venus, Juno and the Sun form the heavy red line pattern to the planets in the 1st and 2nd houses, Saturn and Neptune at 25 and 29 degrees. This is a frictional pattern, the red lines, and is a closing square which means not as event-oriented as they are closing down the story and getting release. This is about our ideals and growth (Sagittarius) about love (Venus), marriage (Juno), and our own identity (the Sun) and how we have spent a tough year moving through responsibilities, endings, commitments, hardships, time, tests, and/or ambitions (Saturn in the 1st house), as well as with boundaries, addictions, secrets, deceptions, karmic balance, or anything associated with institutions, research, artistry, spirituality, or romance and our values (Neptune in the 2nd house).
Now, if we move to where we will be by the Spring Equinox after having done this clearing and internal work over the next 3 months we can see that Venus is in the 11th house in Aries at 17 degrees and she has moved past the clutches of Saturn and Neptune completely to start her new journey in love, Saturn at 4 degrees, Neptune at 1 degrees in the same 11th house in Aries. Venus is now setting off on her new dream and aspiration (11th house) by leading herself forward and with the help of her friends or through renewed aspirations (11th house). The Sun is at the 'Aries Point' at 0 degrees of Aries, the most powerful point in the zodiac, in the 11th house, and is conjunct Neptune at 1 degrees and Saturn at 4 degrees of the same house. You can see that Saturn and Neptune are now making blue lines, ones of opportunity and in flow, so we look at the better side of these energies. This would mean we are showing up and pursuing our new beginning on a personal or physical level (the Sun) in pursuit of our aspirations, dreams and original projects (the 11th house) with links to the artistic, romantic, or spiritual, or via institutions or research (Neptune) as well as our own self-mastery and ambitions (Saturn). And finally, Juno, the Goddess of marriage, is found at 27 degrees in the 9th house of ideals, marriage, travel, legal contracts, and growth. She is conjunct Pluto at 5 degrees of that house, out of sign, and so is ready for powerful transformation, reproductive focus, joint assets, a more free but deep sexuality, or divorce as the way through transformation involving those ideals.
When it comes to this particular story in the chart, you can see that Saturn and Neptune by the Spring have left the last sign of the zodiac and the story, Pisces, and are both firmly in their new story in the first sign of the zodiac, Aries, and are now only making positive, opportune alignments from the 11th house. So, long story short, if you had a rough year with love and your own needs or identity, after the processing and releasing of the Winter, we move into a very opportune time for renewal at the Spring Equinox. Venus also rules income, so the same tracking I did about love through these charts also applies. If you struggled with money this past year, it shows a vibrant and opportune new beginning in the Spring so wrap things up and start thinking about where you would like to go with it.
Finally, I want to touch on the Moon in these charts. The Moon is about our emotional needs, home and family matters, and the people in general as a collective. In the Winter chart you can find the Moon in the 12th house of Karma and isolation at 17 degrees of Capricorn (our goals, authority figures, and any tests involved). The Moon is involved in a frictional T-Square pattern, look at the red lines coming off of it that lead you to Chiron in Aries in the 2nd house at 22 degrees, and to Jupiter in Cancer at 22 degrees in the 6th house. Oy, so we've had this tension around wounds or vulnerabilities that have impacted our emotional needs and us as a people that we will be working through over the next 3 months to release and this is tied to our growth, happiness or prosperity (Jupiter) in the ways we are of service, around the work we do, health stories, animals, home, or family (6 house in Cancer). When we get to Spring and that chart we see that the Moon is now in the 11th house at 20 degrees Aries so our emotional needs are now about our aspirations, leading ourselves forward and anything social or original we are involved in. The Moon here is flanked by Venus on one side at 17 degrees in the same house and Chiron in the same house on the other side at 25 degrees. So the Moon has moved from her square and challenge with the wounds and vulnerabilities and healing of Chiron in the Winter chart to be conjunct this energy for a new beginning in the Spring chart and with the love or money flow of Venus in tow! These energies do form a square pattern in the Spring chart but it is to Jupiter in the 2nd house at 15 degrees so the renewal and fresh beginning are about growth, values, happiness, and prosperity in a big push forward.
