America, Presidents and our current Astrology by astrologer Zoe Moon
I would like to provide a little insight into what we have in store so everyone can get serious about it. The elections were intense and surprising to lots of folk out there and residual emotions are still running high. There are a few configurations going on that are very much worth taking a look at together so here we go.
1) Pluto, the planet of death and rebirth, progressed across America’s Midheaven for the first time since the country’s inception back in 1776 on Feb 20-25, 2016. This correlated to the beginning of a deconstruction and rebuilding of the powers that be that lead our country, and the goals and direction our country would take moving forward. Pluto historically has been about a complete razing to the ground and rebirthing something from the ashes, meant to transform what it touches completely. You cannot fight Pluto transits, they just are. February coincided with the death of Supreme court justice Scalia, the FBI investigation of Hillary Clinton for the first time announcing that the U.S. State Department confirmed that she did have “top secret” material in her personal email account, Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders both winning the New Hampshire primary, Jeb Bush withdrawing from the race, and I’m sure some things we as citizens were not privy to. It’s important to note that this is when Pluto was peaking but it arrived at the 25th degree back in July 2015 so let’s look at what was happening there as we piece this story together. Obama made an agreement with Cuba to open embassies in Washington D.C. and Havana, the U.S. and other nations agreed to lift crippling economic sanctions on Iran in exchange for limits on Iran’s ability to produce a nuclear weapon, the U.S. supported Parliament’s bill to allow Japans military to participate in foreign conflicts for the first time since World War II against China’s protests, and we watched as Greece held a referendum to vote ‘no’ on budget cuts by creditors in return for loans that Greece needed, an ominous foreboding to the destabilization of the banking systems. Again, I’m sure I’m missing things but this gives you an idea.
Starting on July 21st, 2016, Pluto moved onto the 26th degree by progression and sits this degree for a year, until July 21st, 2017. At this degree Pluto has locked onto the United States birth Moon at 26 degrees of Aquarius. It forms an adjustment aspect which means the people will move through a very intense, powerful adjustment to this deconstruction and rebirthing process of the leadership and direction of the country. Aquarius is first and foremost about freedom and so in our year ahead we have this theme at the top of the list as a country and our mandate to make some adjustments when dealing with the changes that are taking place to keep an eye on our freedoms. It may be important to really consider how many of these we have given up as a nation since 9/11 and what exactly we might like to do about that. It may also be important to remember how many freedoms we have won and what we will do to maintain them. Aquarius is also about gatherings, group activities, causes, and protests so we seem to be on target with much of what is going on. At a much deeper level, and possibly more urgent in this year’s scenario is that the Moon in the U.S. chart rules other people’s money, ie the debt and the FED. We as a nation have seen the national debt double in the last 8 years, now near a whopping 20 trillion dollars which averages out to about 1.3 million for every single American. I really don’t care who you wanted as President, to think we can continue in this way without things bursting is unbelievably naive and reckless, it is going to burst regardless of who is in there at some point. We need to get real about shifting the way we are doing some things and get serious about making the adjustments necessary to get this figure down. This leads me to #2 on our list.
2) In Americas transiting chart we are hosting Saturn in the first house. This occurs every 29 years and is a period when we have to tighten our belts, grow up and do the hard work. It challenges all aspects of life until we make a commitment and show up and start taking care of business. It is the effort made during Saturn in the first house that sets the solid course for years to come; become an escapist and pretend the issues don’t exist and things get worse, roll up your sleeves and work on the structures, limits and responsibilities and things get better. Or, to put it another way, if the U.S. doesn’t stop policing the world for a moment and take care of its own infrastructure and issues we could be in for some very challenging times ahead. This transit lasts until Dec. 2018. Saturn will test us as a nation with this period over Sagittarius themes and 1st house themes: law, foreign interests, travel, politics, religion, media, education, beliefs, expansionism, weddings, and the nations identity, body, image, and name/title. The last time this occurred was 1986-1989.
From Sept. 2015 – Sept. 2016 Saturn was squaring Neptune from the signs of Sagittarius and Pisces. This configuration tested the world and hadn’t been seen since the Salem witch trials in the late 1600’s. Although it ended its peak in Sept. this year the 2 giants are slowly moving away from each other and are still technically in releasing square until Dec. 20th, 2016, when Saturn finally moves out of orb. To say that hidden things that go bump in the night and hidden agendas playing out in manipulative ways and one of the most vulgar election campaigns in U.S. history were experienced in its replication here is an understatement. Both sides demonized the other, it is sickening that people got swept up in the negative fervor of it and still are as these giants are so slowly moving away from each other, that they believed or worse took part in all the vicious, demoralizing slurs being slung back and forth. Or that we still see the kind of hate-filled words being used on both sides when speaking about fellow Americans, who by the way are for the most part some of the best human beings you would ever want to know. Do you think when the people of 1692 stood back later that they were ashamed of the lives they destroyed in their fear-driven witch hunt? Until this configuration is completely past no one is seeing clearly and hidden things are still going on, take a deep breath and remember who you are, who we are. If you want love out there then for Gods sake project love to everyone and stop with projecting the evil devil/witch onto the people before you. This is not Salem, this is not 1692.
3) The country has Chiron, the wound, at 20 degrees of Aries in its birth chart. Uranus, planet of awakening and shocking, sudden surprise/change, has been moving back and forth across this point since June 2015. Uranus takes 84 years to arrive at a destination and a while to move past it. Uranus will be revisiting this Chiron point in Retrograde and then back into Direct motion for the last time Nov. 27, 2016 – Jan. 20, 2017. So, in all we experience this transit from June 2015-Jan. 2017 and for the first time since Uranus activated the U.S. Chiron back between 1932-1933 we are experiencing an awakening of our nations vulnerabilities and wounding abilities. Back then Franklin Delano Roosevelt was elected who brought great healing to a nation in a depression in the years ahead. Once in office he took the U.S. off of the gold standard and so we now come full circle perhaps with our fiat/oil dollars? Running against him was incumbent President Hoover who had the system behind him, controlled his party and had no problem getting everyone to push him forward. Hoover accused Roosevelt of "nonsense ... tirades ... glittering generalizations ... ignorance and defamation". (See some parallels between Clinton/Hoover?) Roosevelt promised to "abolish useless offices" and "eliminate unnecessary functions of Government", stating that "Government – Federal and State and local – costs too much", and even promised to help facilitate the "restoration of the trade of the world." Roosevelt also knew he wanted to offer the people a 'New Deal' but wasn't clear about the specifics so he kept details to a minimum. He even accused Hoover of being the greatest spending Administration in peacetime in all history. Roosevelt won by the biggest land slide to date at that time. (See parallels between Roosevelt/Trump?). Hoover couldn't understand how when he had all the experience and power players in place and knew what he would do to get America out of trouble that America went for a larger than life personality who promised everything but had no detailed plan. Hoover was with the party that had been in office for years and in place during the onset of the great depression. Roosevelt offered the hope of change. If we want to heal we must get real. Chiron holds a gift, it is through understanding the pain of said wound that we become the spiritual guru teacher/healer to others, think about it. This gift arrives when we start seeing other’s vulnerabilities and trying to heal each other and stop with the wounding. (I'm not talking about the individual character of these people in comparison here but rather showing how what they represented in the eyes of the people at a certain painful point in the country's history coincides). Speaking of Chiron, it’s transiting position out there will move across the IC of the U.S. chart between March 2017-Feb 2018 when we are called upon to end something involving said wound, a once in 52-year cycle. This likely extends the Uranus activation on the birth position Chiron, making the entire passage from June 2015-Feb 2018, a cycle that may bring threats to our homeland. The IC represents the home, our land, the country, our family, our history, our ancestors, and patriotism. Wounds to our actual land could mean many things; a war, an impact from a comet, a Trojan horse, our own in-fighting, I’m sure there are others. Being aware that we are truly vulnerable may wake a few people up.
4) The ruler of America’s allies and open enemies is Mercury. Over the last 240 years it has progressed forward in the chart to now sit the 22nd degree of Pisces. It has been on this degree since Nov. 27, 2015 and stays here until Nov. 25, 2016. This is the one time that it has sat opposite Neptune in the chart. It will be another 360 years before it does it again. This means that allies and enemies have been in a very critical year for the U.S.. Neptune, the planet of secrets, hidden agendas, spies, boundary issues, deception, illusion, the oceans, chemicals, oil(co-ruled with Pluto), and self-sabotage, as well as the ruler of the arts, spirituality, institutions, clandestine romance, and imagination, was one-on-one with these players. It’s interesting to go back to the top of our story and see how our sitting president dealt one-on-one with allies/open enemies. He re-engaged Cuba, Japan and Iran, as well the seeds of the Islamic refugee influx into the country via amplified immigration policies. Whether these were good or bad are for you to judge, they just were what aligned with this configuration in our history. Again this period overlaid the election campaigns for the new presidency and any alliances in question; Clinton and Saudi Arabia and Trump with Russia, to name a couple, that were bandied about. What is real?
Of course I could go on and on but suffice it to say that this short period in American history between the years 2015 and 2018 are epic and I beseech you all to remember that if we are narcissistic, childish or entitled we lose. If we in-fight, point at the spec in our brother’s eye and spin on a perpetual wheel of righteousness, we lose. We need to come together as Americans, get behind our country, buckle down and do the work in front of us. We need to ensure we still have an actual, physically operating country in a couple years, it’s that epic, so decide what’s important and do absolutely everything you can to not be a tool to some politicians divisive ambitions, spouting the narrative of the campaign trail but rather part of a United States ready to do what is needed to get our house back in order.

These are all based out of Gemini energy which is urging us to communicate, meet, write, focus on local activities, short trips, siblings, neighbors, ideas, offers, agreements, sales, vehicles, and electronics today. Sitting right smack, dab, in the middle of this is a Mercury/Mars opportunity. Mercury as ruler of this Gemini energy will urge you to focus some of this opportune communication/information and local action on legal, educational, travel, media, marketing, wedding, religious, or political interests. WEDNESDAY opens with more of this social, communicative energy flow in positive alignment. There is an adjustment on a personal or physical level in the midst of this day that may mean you are giving and taking over financial, divorce, sexual, mortality, or third party matters. Once the Moon exits the Void we are in Cancer Moon territory which makes the evening good for home, family, nurturing themes.
THURSDAY our Cancer Moon makes 7 contacts so we should plan on being busy with home, real estate deals, moves, renovations, family, parents, or roommates. There is a lot of growth potential and imagination or behind the scenes efforts paying off with this now.
