FAITH

In this fall through mystic sang

I found once bruised my golden wings

and gently stitched my beating grace

gossamer with memory

dare I courage for the sky

or summon Mercury to bear

when tales of Icarus remind

what is risked illumined flight

where secrets born of pain remain

reminders why Achilles bled

trailing veins between the stars

like lovers pulsing on the veil

and still I know the winds call forth

and still I know I ready meet

the taste of what so long denied

has found me soaring true and sweet

as these words I soulful taste,

“what is life if not faith?”
